Start using the sewing machine

This class is ideal for absolute beginners who would like to start using the sewing machine. Learn about different stitches, tension, different feet and learn about putting in a zip. A great start for all other fabric-based courses.

Understanding sewing patterns

In this class you will make a toile (a calico practice run) of your chosen pattern , learning the best pattern adjustments and getting it properly fitted and ready to make into your final garment. You will also be cutting your material and preparing to sew for your final garment on the day. The emphasis is on getting the best out of your pattern and making a toile fit and preparing you for an excellent final finish on the garment. The tutor is Gill McBride.

Crash Course in Quilting

Ever wondered what the fuss is about? In this course you will learn some of the basics of quilting: rotary cutting, piecing a block and sandwiching it with wadding and backing.
